Meet Our Leadership
Shane Wilt
Senior Pastor
Pastor Shane began his ministry at West End Baptist Chapel on February 28, 1999. He holds an associate’s degree in communications from Frederick Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Lancaster Bible College. He was raised in Charles Town, West Virginia, and now resides in Hagerstown, MD.
Pastor Shane enjoys dirt track racing. He and his dad own a car that competes each week at Hagerstown Speedway. He likes watching the Dallas Cowboys and his Utah Jazz, as well as spending time with friends and family.
His life verse is Joshua 1:9. His desire is to see people come into a relationship with Jesus and be transformed by the Holy Spirit.
Matt Shoemaker
Associate Pastor
Matt Shoemaker joined the staff in early 2018. Matt is a graduate of Antietam Bible College where he received a degree in Pastoral Studies and Theology. He was ordained in February of 2013. He has been married to his wife Angie for 22 years and they have two beautiful children, Sierra and Logan. His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 51. He enjoys The Newsboys and LOVES the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mark Clevenger
Worship, Media, and Marriage Pastor
Mark Clevenger is our Worship Pastor and Couples and Marriage Coach at West End Baptist Chapel. He attended Shepherd University with a major in Music Education and Performance. He is certified through Prepare/Enrich to coach and guide couples towards and through Godly marriages. He was ordained January 8, 2024. His favorite Bible verse is James 1:19 – “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.”
He is married to his wife Shanita and has three children: Thea, Liam, and Talitha. He is a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and loves to play Disc Golf
Angie Shoemaker
Administrative Assistant
Angie joined our staff in August of 2023 as a full-time administrative assistant. She is a 1994 graduate of Heritage Academy. She served as a dental assistant at Allegheny Dental Office for 23 years before joining our staff. She is married to Matt and together they have two beautiful kids, Sierra and Logan.
